I want to
Hey girls -
Sprocket Sisters
is an active organization with a moto mission: To provide a supportive environment where experienced female instructors teach moto skills and techniques to build women’s confidence on a motorcycle and in the moto community.
The moto community is awesome!
We take care of each other and welcome newcomers and old-timers just the same. Most women out there learned to ride through top-notch male instructors, friends/family, or significant others - and they’re having a blast!
But things like our build, bone structure, source of inspiration, and, dare we say it, fears, can change the riding game for us. So, when it comes to learning how to ride, who knows the natural physical and mental challenges we run into more than other women?
That's why we’ve made it our focus to recruit talented and experienced women riders to support you as you learn how to safely ride with new skills and confidence.
Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try!
I gained some new friends and many new skills that I can continue to fine-tune in order to make myself a better, safer adventure rider…Fantastic experience!
- Karla
Training was broken down in a way that made it easy to understand. [Shal’s] down-to-earth, humorous demeanor made it easy to ask questions and engage with her. The confidence I personally acquired over the 2-day training course was definitely priceless!
- Laura
I enjoyed the small class size which allowed for plenty of one-on-one instruction and learning.
- Dina
Taking this class with my daughter was an amazing experience! Shal’s broke everything down and was so patient as we practiced each skill. It’s already had an impact on my dirt riding. As a brand new rider, my daughter insisted she would NEVER stand on the bike. But I watched her confidence build as Shal patiently coached her through each new skill until, by the end of class, she proudly stood and rode around with the biggest smile!

I'll never get it

I don't have what it takes

I don't know enough about bikes

I'm too girly

I won't fit in

Sprocket Sisters attendee, Dina, practices tight turns on Day 2. “Look where you want to go.”
What You’ll Learn
Day 1
Our instructor will kick off day 1 with the foundational skills of riding: balance, body position, and peg weighting.
She’ll move into the more technical side of riding including clutch usage and control, proper steering, braking, and how your body movement affects your ride.
Day 2
The instructor will get into more focused clutch control, tight turns, wide turns, proper dabbing, and traction control.
Day 3 (where available)
Time to hit the dirt! We’ll get on the trails together to put your new skill into practice - handling hills, off-camber terrain, hill fail recovery, obstacles, and the multiple ways to pick up and tow your bike (yes, even the heaviest ones).
Confidence, safety, skills!
What will you gain?
Our Values
-
We can only grow when we feel safe enough to be vulnerable. So, we want every woman in our classes to feel respected and free to learn and progress on her own terms and timing.
-
We want each woman to feel she achieved a goal once thought beyond her abilities.
-
With freedom comes responsibility. Trainers teach safety techniques and proper gear. Riders are asked to use their best judgement when practicing those techniques in the training field after class. We do require riders to wear safety gear and abide by safety laws during any offsite rides led by a Sprocket Sisters trainer.
-
Fear isn’t a limiting factor, but an obstacle to learn/work your way through, over, or around. Encouraging determination to become better riders helps move from fear or hesitation to more confident riders and some to become instructors.
-
This is what it’s all about! Providing a supportive environment where women feel comfortable to learn, practice, make mistakes, and achieve more in a given amount of time.
-
Every woman who goes through these classes deserves to have more pride in herself and her moto skills than when she started.
